
Master Ellison – 6th Degree Black Belt, Internationally Certified Master Instructor
Master Ellison is a 6th Degree Black Belt and a cancer survivor whose strength, discipline, and perseverance embody the true spirit of Taekwondo. With over 35 years of teaching experience, he has dedicated his life to developing martial artists of all ages and skill levels.
An Internationally Certified Master Instructor, Master Ellison is qualified to teach more than 10 different weapons systems, as well as Rape Prevention, Pressure Point Control Tactics, and Street Self-Defense. His expertise extends beyond the dojang—he is a Retired Military Emergency Management Specialist and currently serves as a De-escalation Crisis Intervention Instructor for Prime Health Care.
Throughout his distinguished career, Master Ellison has been recognized for his excellence and leadership in the martial arts community. He was named Instructor of the Year in 2001 and inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame that same year. He went on to earn the title of State Champion in both 2001 and 2002, and achieved 8th place at the World Championship Competition. On August 2, 2003, in Newport Beach, California, Master Ellison was again honored with induction into the Masters Hall of Fame, receiving the Special Achievement Award for Outstanding Martial Arts Instruction.
In addition to his martial arts achievements, Master Ellison served his country and community. He was a proud member of the California State Guard, holding the rank of Specialist, served as the official hand-to-hand combat instructor for the 26th Cavalry Support Detachment.
Master Ellison’s lifelong dedication to teaching, service, and personal excellence continues to inspire his students to reach their highest potential—on and off the mat.

Mrs. Ellison is a Third Degree Black Belt Certified Instructor. She is a 3rd Level International Judge. Mrs. Ellison is the Student Director and Liaison for our Huntington Beach Studio.
